OKだからOKだよ!

I’m O.K. Keyes.  Before I was born, my dad thought it’d be cool if his child’s initials were OK because it would be a great nickname for when s/he would eventually play sports.  Little did he know that instead of seeing my name on the back of a jersey, he’d see it on the back of a director’s chair (or so I wish).

I switched my major from physics to media arts midway through my sophomore year at the University of South Carolina.  After a long debate with my parents, my advisors and mostly myself, I finally realized that I the idea of losing my ability to make movies was more terrifying than losing my ability to do physics research.  I feel way more natural behind the camera than I do behind a lab bench.

After that decision, my life has been one crazy ride.  A couple of shorts films and projects later, I’m on a new path that I never even imagined.  I have new connections, new friends, new goals and perhaps most importantly a new purpose in life.

I want to serve others.  I want to make the world a better place.  Technology today gives us an amazing ability to communicate and share like never before.  I just happen to make movies instead of writing a journal or painting pictures.  This is how I chronicle my life, and how I hope to touch others.  There’s so many stories out there, and my goal is tell as many as I can.

Just trying to change the world, one frame at a time.
